NCAA Basketball Betting: UNLV Rebels at Kansas State Wildcats
Basketball bettors will find out if the UNLV Rebels (10-2, 4-7 ATS) are for real on Tuesday, as they match up with the Kansas State Wildcats at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
UNLV already has wins over programs like Wisconsin and Virginia Tech, but stumbled last week, losing to UC Santa Barbara as a 15.5-point favorite Wednesday. The Runnin’ Rebels bounced back with a 72-50 victory over Southern Utah but fell short of the 28-point spread, dropping them to 0-5 ATS in their last five outings.
Kansas State hasn’t fared much better, losing to Florida this weekend and coming up short against the spread in its last two contests. The Wildcats shot worse than 28 percent from the field against the Gators, scoring just 44 points and getting double figures from only star guard Jacob Pullen, who finished with 19 points in the loss.
Kansas State jumped out to a 12-point lead to start the game and carried a 23-20 advantage into halftime. However, the Wildcats came out ice cold in the final 20 minutes, missing their first 10 shots of the second half and hitting just one field goal in an 18-minute span.
UNLV and KSU played last season in Las Vegas, with the Wildcats taking a 95-80 victory as 2.5-point road underdogs. Pullen dropped 28 points in that game while Rebels leading scorer Chace Stanback tossed in 14 points as a reserve. That game finished over the 143.5-point total.
